ChatPanel Client Privacy Configuration (Onboarding)

   Install the ChatPanel extension in Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Arc

   Ensure the browser is supported and the extension is pinned for easy access.

   Open ChatPanel settings and connect the client's preferred AI model

   Use the API key field for cloud models like OpenAI or Anthropic, or point to a local Ollama or LM Studio endpoint for on-premise processing.

   Configure anonymization rules in the 'Anonymize' tab

   Define patterns for PII such as names, emails, and phone numbers so they are stripped before any data leaves the browser.

   Set up the local server endpoint

   Verify the local server is running and the panel is connected to it, ensuring data stays on-premise as per client privacy expectations.

   Enable meeting notes for the client's video platform

   Activate live caption capture for Zoom, Meet, Teams, or Webex, and test with a sample meeting to confirm notes are generated correctly.

   Create a project context library

   Add initial client notes and meeting transcripts, linking them to a project folder so the AI has shared context across chats.

   Train the client team on privacy-safe usage

   Demonstrate how to switch models mid-conversation and how to export data, emphasizing that no ChatPanel server is involved.
