   Install SyntaxCue on the client's macOS or Windows machine and confirm the native desktop app launches without a server component in the audio path.

   SyntaxCue is a one-device activation, so pick the machine the client will actually interview on before installing. Self-serve deactivation is available if the client later switches hardware.

   Verify system audio capture is live: CoreAudio Process Tap on macOS, WASAPI loopback on Windows.

   Play a test call through the client's normal meeting app and confirm the mixed call output registers in SyntaxCue. If capture is silent, the interview will run with no transcription and no hints.

   Confirm whisper.cpp transcription runs locally with Metal or Vulkan GPU acceleration enabled.

   Watch the transcription panel during the test call. Local inference means no audio leaves the device, which is the claim agencies can make to candidates about interview audio never being stored externally.

   Check that energy-based voice-activity detection is segmenting continuous speech into distinct utterances.

   VAD segmentation is what turns a wall of audio into discrete utterances the LLM can answer. If utterances merge or drop, adjust the client's mic and system volume balance before the first live session.

   Have the client paste their own OpenAI or Anthropic API key into SyntaxCue and run a streamed response test.

   The BYOK pipeline is the client's credential, not the agency's. Walk them through key creation and billing on their provider account so a depleted key does not surface mid-interview.

   Run the free trial meter to validate the real-time hint panel end to end before any paid license is purchased.

   The trial meter exists to prove the hint panel latency and formatting on the client's actual hardware. Do not skip this and jump to the $79 license.

7. 07

   Purchase the $79 one-time SyntaxCue license and record the 6-month unlimited-use window on the client's account file.

   The license covers unlimited use for 6 months from purchase with no per-interview metering or packs. Note the expiry date in the agency's client record so renewal conversations happen before the window closes.

8. 08

   Log the client's target role, tech stack, and model choice in the agency handoff sheet, then schedule the first live mock interview.

   The 14-day refund with no conditions is the fallback if the client's hardware cannot sustain local transcription. Capture that decision point in the handoff so delivery does not carry an unconfigured seat into a retainer.
