The Pro plan ($24/month annual) supports unlimited transcriptions and one podcast show; the Grow plan ($34/month annual) adds multistream live distribution and two podcast shows. Resale potential exists for content-heavy verticals, though white-label options and multi-tenant reporting are not documented.

Platform Features

Core capabilities of Riverside

Local 4K Multi-Track Recording

Each participant's video and audio is recorded locally at up to 4K and 48kHz, then uploaded as separate tracks. This protects recording quality from internet instability during remote client interviews or podcast sessions.

Text-Based Video Editing

Editors cut and rearrange video by editing the auto-generated transcript rather than scrubbing a timeline. Unlimited text-based editing is available from the Pro plan upward, reducing turnaround time for agencies producing frequent episodic content.

Magic Clips and AI Repurposing

Riverside automatically identifies highlight segments and generates short-form clips suitable for LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social channels. This compresses the clip-production step that typically requires a separate editor pass.

Multi-Destination Live Streaming

The Grow plan enables simultaneous HD streaming to unlimited destinations, including YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitch. Agencies running live event or webinar retainers can multistream without a third-party broadcast tool.

Podcast Hosting and Distribution

Riverside hosts podcast feeds and pushes episodes directly to Spotify and Apple Podcasts. The Pro plan covers one show; Grow expands to two shows, each with analytics included.

AI Translation and Dubbing

Content can be translated and dubbed into over 30 languages from within the platform. Agencies serving multilingual clients or global brands can deliver localized video without a separate localization vendor.

Reality Check

Trade-offs & Gotchas

Riverside does not publish white-label capabilities or multi-tenant client isolation, so agencies cannot present a fully branded portal to end clients. The vendor's own testimonial page includes a refund dispute claim, suggesting billing or cancellation workflows may require careful documentation before signing retainer agreements.

Academy for Riverside

Work through it in order: the course for this service first, then the modules behind it.

Core concepts

The mental model you need to price and scope the work.

  1. Editor Hours Per Accepted DeliverableConcept

This framework shifts the focus from tool features to the real cost driver: the total editor hours spent per deliverable that the client actually accepts. Agencies often compare editing platforms by output quality or AI flashiness, but the decisive metric is the labor cost embedded in each accepted piece. A tool that produces a rough cut in minutes but requires hours of correction may be more expensive than a slower tool that delivers closer to final. The framework forces agencies to measure the full loop: raw edit, client feedback, revision cycles, and final approval. For example, an agency using Descript for text-based editing might cut transcription time, but if the client rejects the AI-generated pacing and demands manual re-cuts, the savings vanish. Conversely, a service like NoLimit Creatives, which bundles managed editing, can shift labor entirely off the agency's bench. The relevant productivity result is the measured change in accepted deliverables and labor, not a category-wide multiplier.

  2. Correction Loop RatioConcept

Correction Loop Ratio measures the share of total editor hours spent fixing AI-assisted output versus producing it. In video editing, agencies often adopt AI tools like Descript for text-based cutting or Submagic for auto-captions, expecting labor savings. But the real productivity metric is the time spent correcting transcripts, captions, or clip selections before a deliverable is accepted. A low ratio means the tool's output aligns with client expectations; a high ratio signals hidden costs that erode retainer margins. For example, an agency repurposing a 60-minute podcast into 10 shorts might spend 2 hours generating clips but 6 hours fixing cuts and captions, yielding a ratio of 0.75. Tracking this ratio per tool and per client brief reveals which workflows truly reduce editor hours. Agencies should benchmark correction time on a representative brief before committing to a tool, as the category description warns against assuming a universal multiplier.

  3. Correction Loop RatioConcept

The Correction Loop Ratio measures the time between a client's revision request and the final accepted deliverable, relative to the initial edit time. For agencies, this ratio reveals whether editing tools actually reduce labor or merely shift effort into review cycles. A low ratio means the tool's output aligns with client expectations, cutting total editor hours. A high ratio signals a mismatch, often from generic AI defaults that produce homogeneous results, as noted in recent analysis of AI image and video output. Agencies should benchmark this ratio across representative briefs, comparing tools like Descript's text-based editing, Kapwing's browser-based repurposing, and Submagic's automated captions. The goal is not a category-wide multiplier but a measured change in accepted deliverables and labor per project, directly impacting retainer profitability.

Great Local stems, just keep an eye on tab uploads

The isolated audio tracks and local 4K capture eliminate almost all the nasty compression and glitching you get on standard calls, which saves significant cleanup time in the DAW.

Intuitive and easy for new podcasters

Riverside FM tends to be a very well respected and easy to use platform. I came in with almost no experience podcasting and it was easy and intuitive to learn. Their AI tools have made editing tremendously easier. This is very little that I would change about this product at this moment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about pricing, setup, implementation, and more

Riverside records video at up to 4K and audio at 48kHz in separate per-participant tracks, then provides a text-based editor for cutting and repurposing that footage. It also handles podcast hosting with distribution to Spotify and Apple Podcasts, multi-destination live streaming to platforms including YouTube and LinkedIn, and AI-generated clip creation for social channels. The Business plan adds HubSpot and Marketo integrations for webinar lead capture.

Riverside offers 4 pricing tiers, starting at $24/mo billed annually (Pro) up to $34/mo billed annually (Grow). Agencies typically achieve 33% profit margins when reselling to clients.

No verified white-label program is documented in Riverside's published materials. Client-facing recording rooms and the editing interface display Riverside branding, so agencies cannot present the platform under their own brand without confirmation of a private-label arrangement through the Business sales process.

Both are listed as supported integrations. YouTube is available as a streaming and publishing destination across relevant plans. HubSpot integration is documented at the Business plan tier, alongside Marketo, supporting webinar registration and lead data workflows. Integration depth beyond native connection (for example, Zapier or API-only) is not specified in published materials for the self-serve plans.

Riverside does not publish a dedicated agency onboarding flow, so each client project is set up as a new recording studio within the account. Configuring a studio, inviting a client as a guest, and connecting a podcast hosting destination typically takes under 30 minutes for a producer already familiar with the interface. The Business plan includes a dedicated CSM who can accelerate onboarding for enterprise engagements.

Riverside fits podcast production agencies managing episodic interview or narrative shows, video marketing agencies producing remote testimonial and thought-leadership content, content marketing agencies that need a combined record-edit-distribute workflow, and webinar or virtual event agencies running registration-gated sessions for B2B clients.

The Free plan includes 2 hours of multi-track recordings. Pro includes 15 hours of separate track downloads per month, and Grow increases that to 20 hours per month. The Business plan includes unlimited video storage and hosting, though separate track download limits at that tier are not specified in published plan details.

The vendor's own testimonial page includes a claim from a user named Ellie Jones stating she was charged for a yearly subscription without intending to upgrade and found it difficult to obtain a refund. Agencies setting up client accounts or team seats should confirm subscription tier and billing cycle explicitly before purchase, particularly when trialing features that may trigger a plan upgrade.
