The built-in task tracking, client portal with on-page feedback, and domain management eliminate the need to stitch together separate tools for design, hosting, and client communication. Reality Check
Sitejet's pricing scales per-website, not per-client account, so agencies managing high-volume client portfolios face compounding costs as they add hosted sites. The platform does not publish integration depth with major CRMs or email platforms, limiting its usefulness for agencies that need to sync client data into existing business systems.

Why this category matters
The commercial case before the tooling.
Core concepts
The mental model you need to price and scope the work.
- Template Ceiling TrapConcept
The Template Ceiling Trap is the point at which a client's site needs outgrow what a drag-and-drop builder can express, and the client starts wondering why they pay a retainer for something they could assemble themselves. Agencies feel this as a slow margin leak: the first build is fast and profitable, then every revision request pushes against the builder's limits. The framework says to price and scope the first build as a fixed-fee sprint, then move the client onto a maintenance retainer that covers hosting, security, and content updates rather than design hours. Sitejet and Weblium both ship white-label modes that let an agency put its own brand on the editor, which keeps the client inside the agency's portal instead of the vendor's signup page. WPMU DEV bundles hosting, plugin updates, and client billing into one dashboard, so the recurring work stays billable. The trap closes when the client learns the tool's name.
- Client Bypass HorizonConcept
Client Bypass Horizon is the point at which a website builder becomes simple enough that a client believes they can maintain or rebuild the site without an agency. The framework asks a single question per account: how many clicks stand between the client and a publishable page? As that number falls, retainer renewal risk rises, because the tool itself becomes the agency's replacement. The strategic response is not to avoid simple builders but to price and scope around what the builder cannot do: brand systems, conversion architecture, integrations, and governance. For example, Weblium ships AI writing plus template-driven assembly, which shortens first-draft time for an agency and simultaneously shortens the client's perceived dependency on that agency. Agencies that track this horizon can move retainers from build hours to strategy and maintenance before the client notices the gap. Ignoring it means the same tool that cut delivery time also cuts the retainer.
- Bypass Risk PricingConcept
Bypass Risk Pricing treats every website builder engagement as a bet on how long the client stays unable to do the work themselves. The framework asks one question before quoting: how many clicks separate this client from a site they could ship without you? Builders with AI generation and template libraries keep lowering that number, so the retainer must be priced against the client's rising self-serve capability rather than against hours delivered. Agencies that ignore this drift keep selling the same build at the same rate while the underlying work gets easier for the buyer to replicate. The practical move is to shift billable weight toward what the builder cannot do: content strategy, conversion testing, AEO visibility, and ongoing maintenance. Forrester's September 2026 finding that 83% of B2C marketers already work with AI agents is the tell that client-side tool fluency is arriving faster than most agency rate cards assume.
Decision and risk
How to judge the fit, and the ways it goes wrong.
- Website Builders Rule: Price the Client's Exit Before You Price the BuildEvaluation Rule
Before quoting a low-complexity build, write down the specific post-launch work the client cannot self-serve, and price the retainer against that list rather than against the build itself.
- Website Builders Rule: White-Label the Platform Before You Scale the RetainerEvaluation Rule
Choose builders that let you own the account layer, the billing relationship, and the client portal, so the recurring revenue survives the client learning the editor.
- Website Builders Decision: White-Label Resale vs Client Self-ServeDecision Framework
IF your agency runs 10 or more concurrent low-complexity client sites and needs branded delivery, billing, and a client portal under your own domain, THEN standardize on white-label builder infrastructure and resell it as part of the retainer. IF your client roster is fewer than five accounts or each build carries custom integration work, THEN let clients hold their own builder subscription and charge for strategy, content, and launch labor instead.
- The Template Ceiling Trap: Why Website Builders Stall Agency Retainers After LaunchFailure Pattern
- The Client Self-Serve Trap: Why Website Builders Erode Agency Retainers After HandoffFailure Pattern
- Sitejet vs Weblium vs InstaWP (White-Label Resale and Client Handoff Economics)Tool Comparison
The choice turns on what the agency is actually selling: Sitejet and InstaWP both let you put your own brand on the client relationship, while Weblium optimizes for raw build speed on simple sites. Pick by delivery model rather than feature count, because a template builder that ships in two days still loses money if the client later needs a custom CMS and you have to rebuild from scratch. The strategic risk in this category is that clients can buy the same tools directly, so the defensible part of the retainer is the strategy, content, and ongoing maintenance wrapped around the build, not the editor itself.

- High-Volume Client Site Sprint (5-10 days)Implementation Blueprint

What agencies say about Sitejet
“SiteJet is not ready.”
SiteJet is part of WebPros, who are responsible for the highly popular cPanel/WHM server GUI interface, which is used world-wide. Do not confuse the products beyond that. I was excited to try SiteJet when it first was released and successfully built a website in a few hours and left it. It was over a year later that I found out they had problems with the rollout, specifically the use of a "canonical" tag that the developers accidentally left pointed at their own preview copy on a European host. Google indexing relied on it and I still don't have good control of the domain/website. The support is simply abominable. The project code has never really been completed. You can generate a SiteJet website easily, but you cannot remove it without delving into hidden folders inside other hidden folders. That should be enough to warn most users sufficiently. The SiteJet support team simply prevaricates, telling the user that the person who can solve their problem is on vacation, or that a new team is coming online next month. When all else fails they euphemistically refer to their failure as a "cPanel anamolie." In the end, I deleted the site manually and begged them to delete the false canonical object on their server that Google had been directed to index for my domain. They have refused, saying it was impossible to do. Follow-up Review: Pursuant to the response from SiteJet Support, which can be viewed here, I checked again to see if the false canonical object on their own server, had been deleted per my repeated requests. With staggering incredulity, I can confirm that it has not. Why would anyone consider depending on a product supported by a tone-deaf and clueless team of self-absorbed prevaricators?
Read on Trustpilot“If Only This Website Builder Would Work Properly”
Well I do wish this website builder would actually work like other website builders I have used over the years, but it doesn't. So many things I haven't been able to do, so many clitches, now I need to know CODE to fix things! Using SiteJet is EXTREMELY frustrating and basically I can hire someone to fix it????? That is their answer now. If I didn't already pay and build most of the site, I would for sure switch and go somewhere else. I will move my site when I get some more time and money to do so and I NEVER want to use Sitejet ever again. Building websites used to be fun!!!!!!!!!!!
