   Open the AgentGrid canvas for the active client project

   Navigate to the project's visual canvas where master and worker agents are displayed side-by-side. Ensure you are on the correct project, as the Free tier supports up to 3 projects.

   Identify the agent that has hit its usage limit

   Check the usage monitoring panel for each provider. AgentGrid tracks usage limits across Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other harnesses. Look for the agent that is throttled or has exhausted its quota.

   Select the master agent to initiate a handoff

   Click on the master agent node to open its configuration. The master agent is responsible for delegating tasks to worker agents. Ensure it has the context needed to reassign the task.

   Assign the pending task to an alternative worker agent

   From the master agent's context menu, choose the worker agent that will take over. The canvas allows you to drag connections or use the delegation interface. Confirm that the new worker agent has available usage on its provider.

   Transfer session state and conversation history

   Use the session persistence feature to copy the conversation thread and any relevant files to the new worker agent. This ensures continuity and avoids rework. Verify that the new agent has access to the same project files.

   Monitor the handoff on the canvas

   Watch the visual canvas to confirm the new worker agent is active and processing the task. Check that the master agent's delegation log shows the handoff as successful. If any errors appear, use the canvas to re-route the task.

   Document the handoff for the client

   Record the handoff details in the project's session log, including which agents were involved and why the handoff occurred. This documentation supports client transparency and can be included in delivery reports.
