Genie9 Client Workspace Setup (Onboarding)

   Create a new client workspace in the Genie9 admin console

   Navigate to the Workspaces section and select 'Create Workspace'. Name it after the client and assign the appropriate plan (Standard or Pro) based on the number of users and storage needs.

   Invite client users and assign roles

   In the workspace settings, use the 'Invite Users' option to send email invitations. Assign each user the 'Administrator' or 'Member' role depending on their responsibility for backup management.

   Configure cloud drive connectors

   Go to 'Cloud Services' within the workspace and connect the client's cloud drives (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Box). Authenticate each connector and select the folders to include in backup.

   Set up file backup policies

   Under 'Backup Policies', create a new policy for file backup. Specify the source (local folders or cloud drives), schedule (e.g., continuous or nightly), and retention period. Enable 'Ransomware Canary' to detect suspicious activity.

   Enable AI Lens for searchable backups

   In the workspace settings, toggle on 'AI Lens' to allow indexing of backed-up files. This enables face recognition, OCR, and label detection, which clients can use to search inside their backups.

   Configure storage tiering rules

   Access 'Storage Tiering' and define rules to automatically move older data from hot to cold and deep-freeze tiers. This reduces long-term storage costs by up to two-thirds.

   Test recovery workflow

   Perform a test restore of a sample file and a bare-metal recovery on a non-production server. Verify that the recovery portal is accessible and that the client can initiate restores independently.

   Deliver client access and documentation

   Provide the client with branded workspace URLs and login credentials. Share a quick-start guide covering how to perform file-level search, initiate restores, and monitor backup health.
