   Confirm the client's assistant is on Pomeroy's supported list before installing anything.

   Pomeroy bridges Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Cline, and 17+ other assistants. If the client runs an assistant outside that list, plan on the local HTTP endpoint instead of a native MCP connection, and flag the extra configuration time in the retainer scope.

   Install Pomeroy from the menu bar and connect the first native app.

   Pomeroy connects 9 apps in total. Start with the one the client named in discovery (Mail or Calendar for most service businesses) and use the one-click connection for supported assistants rather than pasting a config snippet by hand.

   Grant macOS permissions centrally, once, for every assistant the client will use.

   Pomeroy holds permissions in one place, so a second assistant added later inherits the same grants. Walk the client through each macOS permission prompt on screen; do not grant Mail or Calendar access on their behalf without them watching.

   Verify the free tier's 50 actions per week against the client's actual usage.

   The Free plan allows 50 actions every week, shared across every assistant connected on that Mac. If the client's scheduling and email drafting will exceed that, quote the $19 one-time plan, which removes the weekly limit and includes updates to Pomeroy 1.

   Run a read test through the assistant and confirm the data path end to end.

   Ask the connected assistant to summarize tomorrow's Calendar entries and list unread Mail. A correct answer proves the local MCP server is serving app data; a permission error means a macOS grant was declined and needs re-approval.

6. 06

   Document the client's approved workflows and hand the Mac back.

   Record which apps are connected, which assistant holds access, and which prompts the client approved. This becomes the reference sheet for the retainer and the starting point if the client adds a second assistant later.

7. 07

   Set the billing expectation before the engagement closes.

   Pomeroy has no multi-tenant client management, white-label branding, or agency billing features, so the $19 one-time license sits on the client's Mac and your fee covers setup and ongoing workflow work. State that split in writing so the client does not expect a portal or per-seat admin console.
