Platform Features

Core capabilities of MailerLite

Drag-and-drop email editor with AI writing assistant

MailerLite's newsletter editor includes an AI writing assistant on the Comfort plan and above, reducing copy creation time for client campaigns. The visual builder eliminates coding, lowering the barrier for agencies to deliver email design work without hiring designers.

Visual automation workflows with multiple triggers

Build triggered email sequences based on subscriber behavior, form submissions, or e-commerce activity. The Power plan includes unlimited visual automations and multiple trigger types, enabling agencies to deliver sophisticated nurture campaigns without custom development.

Landing pages and website builder

Create lead-capture pages and full websites within MailerLite, eliminating the need to integrate a separate page builder. Agencies can deliver end-to-end lead generation campaigns (form to email to landing page) under one platform.

E-commerce and digital product sales

Native Stripe integration and digital product delivery allow agencies to help clients sell e-books, courses, or subscriptions directly through email campaigns. Paid newsletter subscriptions enable recurring revenue models for creator clients.

Appointment booking and scheduling

Schedule 1:1 or group calls with automatic calendar integration and payment collection for paid bookings. Useful for agencies serving consultants, coaches, and service providers who need lead-to-call workflows.

Email list verification and deliverability tools

Built-in email verifier cleans subscriber lists to improve inbox placement. Reduces bounce rates and helps agencies maintain client sender reputation without third-party tools.

Core concepts

The mental model you need to price and scope the work.

  1. Retainer Floor MathConcept

Retainer Floor Math is the practice of calculating the minimum monthly retainer a client account can support before any email work begins, using the platform fee as the floor rather than the ceiling. A 5,000-contact list on a low-cost sender such as EmailOctopus or Moosend costs the client a few tens of dollars a month, so a retainer priced against that fee alone collapses to near zero margin. The framework says the sellable unit is the bundle: list growth, segmentation, creative, and sends. Agencies that price the bundle hold margin; agencies that price the tool lose the account to a freelancer. The same logic applies to white-label resale, where BigMailer and Mailmunch let an agency consolidate many client brands under one dashboard, turning per-client tool cost into a shared line item that no single retainer has to carry.

  2. Send Cost InversionConcept

Send Cost Inversion is the point where the platform fee stops being the billable line item and becomes a rounding error inside a larger service retainer. On a 5,000-contact list, a send platform might cost $30 to $60 per month, which cannot support a standalone agency retainer at any defensible hourly rate. The inversion happens when list growth, segmentation logic, creative production, and lifecycle flows are bundled and priced as one deliverable, so the $40 tool fee sits inside a $2,500 monthly scope rather than being marked up on its own. Agencies that price the tool separately compete on a number the client can look up in five minutes. Agencies that price the bundle compete on outcomes the client cannot price at all. The practical test: if a client can cancel your retainer and keep sending for under $100 a month, you have not inverted anything.

  3. List Equity CompoundingConcept

List Equity Compounding treats a client's subscriber list as an appreciating asset the agency builds and maintains, not a channel it rents. Every opt-in adds a durable, transferable asset that raises the floor on future campaign performance and makes the agency harder to replace. The framework matters because platform fees are too small to sustain a retainer alone; the list itself is the margin. An agency running lifecycle flows for an ecommerce client can point to subscriber growth, segmentation depth, and revenue per send as owned equity, justifying a monthly retainer that a per-send fee never could. The strategic move is to sell list growth, segmentation, creative, and sends as one bundle, because each layer increases the value of the others. When a client considers leaving, the accumulated list equity and the agency's knowledge of it become the switching cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about pricing, setup, implementation, and more

MailerLite is an email marketing platform that combines campaign creation, automation, landing pages, and website building. It includes a drag-and-drop editor, pre-built templates, and integrations to Stripe, Shopify, WooCommerce, and Make. Agencies can use it to deliver email marketing, lead capture, and e-commerce workflows for clients without juggling separate tools.

MailerLite offers 4 pricing tiers, starting at $12/mo (Comfort) up to $25/mo (Power). Agencies typically achieve 66% profit margins when reselling to clients.

No verified white-label program. Client-facing surfaces, including email headers and dashboard branding, display the MailerLite brand. This limits positioning as a proprietary agency tool and may reduce perceived exclusivity for enterprise retainer clients.

Yes. MailerLite has native integrations to both Stripe (for paid subscriptions and digital product sales) and Make (for workflow automation). It also integrates natively with Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, Canva, and Zapier, which connects to 8,000+ additional apps.

Initial setup typically takes 15-30 minutes per client account once the agency parent account is configured. This includes connecting integrations (Stripe, Shopify), importing subscriber lists, and selecting email templates. The drag-and-drop editor and pre-built automation templates reduce time-to-first-campaign.

MailerLite is best suited for content creators and solopreneurs (newsletter publishers, course creators), small e-commerce stores (Shopify and WooCommerce sellers), and service providers (coaches, consultants using appointment booking). It is less ideal for mid-market SaaS or agencies requiring enterprise compliance or dedicated infrastructure.

MailerLite supports multiple sub-accounts, but the platform does not publish a specific limit or multi-tenant reporting dashboard. Contact MailerLite sales to confirm sub-account capacity and whether agency-level analytics are available before committing to a reseller model.

The Comfort and Free plans include email support. The Power plan includes 24/7 live chat and email support. Enterprise plans include a dedicated success manager and onboarding consultation. Response times and SLA terms are not published in available documentation.
